Isao was fascinated by taiko at the age of 5 and he learned from Mr. Toru Matsuda.
In 1993, he was awarded the encouragement prize of the Minister of Education in the individual category at the Rikuzen-Takata taiko Festival. Afterwards he studied the Japanese traditioinal music and performed in and out of Japan. Currently, he performs as a member of taiko unit JUZO as well as a soloist. He collaborates with various artists, such as Tsugaru-shamisen players, a modern ballet dancer and so on.
A documentary was brodast on TV program 'Turning Point' which was about his life devoting to taiko despite his hearing disability.
