Tetsuro was a member of KODO-Japanese drums "taiko" group based on Sado Island-until 2002. He didn't only perform there but also showed his talent as a composer and producer. His works are highly valued and many exellent pieces of his music are released on CD's.
In June 2002, he left KODO to start his carrer as a solo artist. With his great technique and original sense, he was joined some recordings and tours with many musicians such as Toshiki Kadomatsu, DJ Krush, Soul Flower Union and Yoshida Brothers. A wide range of his music ativities is free from any genre.
However, he earnestly faces the essential question "What kind of things are really Japanese?". He, therefore, has been searching for its fascination and possibilities of taiko and pusuing the ultimate expression with such a primitive instrument in the way of solo. On the other hand,he's also found the possibilities of expression as a group as Dong Gara and ToMoRo which he direts. Solo and emsemble. With the combination of these two simple but skillful style, he is aiming to develop the world of taiko. In addition, he willingly offers composition and lessons to spread this unique world to many people.
He held some workshops overseas as well. For instance, with SO-DAIKO (one of the taiko groups in New York) and SAN JOSE DAIKO(a taiko group having its base in California) while he belonged to KODO. And after he left he gave a basic lesson how to play the taiko to the Swedish percussionists in Japan.
